Biryani is of many types like Tikka biryani, dum biryani and masala biryani, mutton biryani and chicken biryan. Even you found many biryani shops near your house and workplace. A variety of masalas and spices make it more exciting in taste.

However, it’s a favorite dish among young and old. Today we will tell you the recipe for biryani which tastes is like a biryani you eat outside. You can also add potatoes to take extra vitamins.

Direction to Boil the Potatoes.


  • Boil Water
  • Potatoes 3-4
  • Salt 1tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1tsp

Cover and boil until tender. When you think the potatoes are done, strain and set aside.

Prepare a Masala For Chicken Biryani


  • cooking oil 1 cup
  • Large onions 4
  • Ginger Paste 1tbsp
  • Garlic Paste 1tbsp
  • Chicken 1& 1/2 kg
  • Green Chilis Chopped 4-5
  • Sliced Tomatoes 4
  • Plums 10-12
  • Red Chilli Powder 1tbsp
  • Corriander & Cumin POwder 1 & 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tbsp
  • Garam Masala 1tsp
  • Chicken Powder 1tbsp
  • Turmeric 1tsp
  • Water 1/2 glass
  • Curd 1/2 cup

Once the oil is hot, add the onions and let them brown. Add ginger and garlic paste mix it well. Now It’s time to add a chicken along, with green chilis, tomatoes, plums, red chili powder, coriander-cumin powder, Salt, garam masala, chicken powder, turmeric powder. Mix them well. Add a little bit of water to cook the chicken property. Again mix it properly. Cover and cook it at a medium flame for 10 mins.

After 10 minutes, uncovered it, and add curd in it again mix, it well. For 10 minutes, cook at high heat until oil separates and water dries.

When you think oil has separated, add boil potatoes and give a mix. Turn off the flame. Your yummy chicken biryani masala has been ready now.

Method to Prepare Biryani Liquid Batter


  • Curd 1/3 cup
  • Milk 1/3 cup
  • Garam Masala 1tsp
  • Nutmeg 1/2 tsp
  • Mace Powser1/2 tsp
  • Food Colour 1 tsp

Mix it well and put them aside

Rice Boiling Preparation


  • Water 6 Jugs
  • Salt tbsp
  • Small Bay Leaves 5
  • Cinnamon small sticks 2-3
  • Cloves 7-8 pieces
  • Star Anise 1
  • Black Cumin Seeds 1tsp
  • Kewra Essence 1/2 tsp
  • Soaked Basin Rice 1 kg
Boiled Rice for Biryani

Boil water and add all the above ingredients. Now add basmati rice. When rice will be 70% cook separate them with strain for the biryani first layer. Now boil reaming rice till 90% done. Take out 90% done rice. Strain it properly.

Layering and Dum Procedure for Chicken Biryani

Add chicken gravy in a metal pot, add 1/2 glass water, Chili flakes 1tsp. Mint and Coriander Leaves. Add biryani color batter. Now add the 70% boiled rice that you separated. Now add 90% boil rice above it and spread it. Add 1/2 cup cooking oil. Now cover it for 15-20 mins.

Now Open the Cover and turn off the flame and mix it well. Careful while mixing it, to not break the rice.

Now your biryani is ready. You can serve it with Salad.
